Kassandra and Alexios may have the same dialogue options, but there are subtle differences between the characters. Because of this, certain love interests are better tailored to one of the Greek Siblings. Whether it’s better chemistry or the Eagle Barer’s reactions to their potential lovers.

The love interests listed are by no means the best in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Some, like Lykaon or Alkibiades, go well with either character.

Updated on October 8, 2022, by Talha Bin Rizwan: Players have the opportunity to act on their desires and engage in romantic relationships with a wide variety of characters in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Some are deep and passionate while others are fun and casual flings for the Eagle-Bearer to take their minds off the seriousness of the main storyline. Despite having such a large list, some romances are better suited for either Alexios or Kassandra. While they can be romanced by both, they play better or fit better for either of the Eagle-Bearer siblings. To know which romantic partner is better suited for whom, players will need to explore and experiment.

14 Kassandra - Aikaterine

This is by no means a lasting relationship. In fact, the whole interaction should take players less than ten minutes.

Even so, Aikaterine makes a big impact. She’s sassy and straight-talking, giving Kassandra the information she needs without any pretense. Choosing to romance her or not won’t make any impact on the Eagle Barer’s story. But it’s a small, fun interlude. With Kassandra, the interaction feels more casual and more playful, which is refreshing as Kassandra is often the serious sibling. Both of them know what this is about and so does Thespis.

13 Alexios - Xenia

Xenia’s romance does feel a little awkward, given the eagle-bearer met her trying to track down their mother. Her questline is also a little tedious, as Kassandra or Alexios has to source her treasures from across the Greek world. It’s a lot to go through just for one night with the pirate queen. The quest might have felt worth it if we spent more time with the character herself.

Like Aikaterine, Xenia is straight-talking and a tough character. Albeit in very different ways- which is perhaps why she looks better with Alexios. Or maybe it’s because they share the same hairstyle.

12 Kassandra - Anais

Anais is the Eagle Barer’s childhood sweetheart. We meet her in the “Old Flames Burn Brighter” questline from the Lost Tales of Greece DLC. Anais is now a widow, running her own farm and struggling to get through to her young son. She asks for Kassandra’s help with this and romance ensues.

She is a little annoying (like insisting the eagle-bearer make all the choices at the market and then complaining if they choose something wrong) But the quest is a fun, heartwarming break from the game’s overall intensity.

11 Alexios - Kosta

Family Values is another quest that gives a moment of comic relief in a game full of tragedy.

The town blacksmith Kosta makes their interest in the Eagle Barer known straight away. And why wouldn’t he? Romancing him is always worth it for the memorable line “You killed his Mater and fu**ed his Pater!” But this one goes hands down to Alexios for his delivery of the line: “Give me the sword, and I’ll make this a day you’ll never forget!” No one could forget that.

10 Kassandra - Odessa

Odessa is the first romance players encounter in the game and one of the first legendary lieutenants that the eagle-bearer can recruit on the Adrestia.

She’s a fantastic archer to have on for the ship, but also a great companion to Kassandra. The chemistry between these two crops up straight away. It is one of the few romances that end in some kind of conclusive relationship (although Kassandra maybe shouldn’t settle down so early on in the game). Still, watching Kassandra pick her up and carry her through the door is something special.

9 Alexios - Lykinos

Speaking of picking up love interests, watching either Eagle Barer pick Lykinos up, and throw him on that table is an unforgettable image.

Rescuing Lykinos comes at the beginning of A Brother’s Seduction. Alexios quickly develops feelings for Lykinos, but also for his brother: Timotheos. The quest ends by choosing either brother or friend-zoning them both. Alexios has great chemistry with both brothers, but the players have to hand it to Lykinos for being so different from the rest of Alexios’s lovers. Plus, Timotheos being an Athenian soldier might cause some problems with his family.

8 Kassandra - Daphnae

Perhaps the only hunter who can match the Eagle Barer.

Daphnae’s side quest of killing vicious beasts throughout the Greek World follows the eagle-bearer throughout their adventure. Some of them aren’t too hard, but others such as the Erymanthian Boar are more difficult than the players may expect.

Kassandra’s fierceness matches Daphnae’s perfectly from the start to the tragic end of this story. While the ending is undoubtedly tragic, regardless of what the players choose to do, they will still feel the love between this excellent pairing. It fits the tone of many Ancient Greek love stories.

7 Alexios - Roxana

When meeting the Eagle Barer, Roxana makes her intentions clear. She just wants a sparring partner, nothing more. That’s at least how things start.

Roxana is a character that matches Alexios in determination, confidence, and smack talk. But there is also humility in her; she admits that there are things she can learn from Alexios and notes his talents. Pursuing Roxana as a romantic partner will also affect the ending of the Battle of One Hundred Hands.

Aside from the romance, the childish petulance when asking if he can enter the battle yet is much more suited to Alexios than Kassandra.

6 Kassandra - Kyra

The Delos Islands questline is one of the most intense side quests in the game. It’s unavoidable if the players want to take down all the cultists, but also worth solely for the side characters, the eagle-bearer meet along the way

Interfering in Kyra and Thaletas’s relationship may seem wrong-although it’s hardly the most immoral thing in this game. But when Kassandra and Kyra connect it’s clear they are destined to be with one another. The chemistry between these two is stronger than any Kassandra has with other characters and their scene on the beach is one of the most romantic video game scenes ever.

5 Alexios - Thaletas

It’s unknown if Kassandra’s chemistry with Kyra and Alexios’s same chemistry with Thaletas is intentional by the developers or not. But the chemistry between these two men is just as undeniable. The fight on the mountain matches Alexios’s courting style down to the ground. It’s not as romantic as Kyra’s beach scene, but it’s more Spartan.

While Alexios’s voice actor isn’t always as great at the serious stuff, his delivery of “I’d ask for you Thaletas” is overwhelmingly heartwarming.

Perhaps after the adventures and the war, these two got the happy ending they deserved.

4 Kassandra - Diona

Kassandra finds Diona on Kythera Island after completing “Athens’ Last Hope” and must be at least level 35. Diona is a priestess of Aphrodite and involved in a series of side quests including uncovering a Cultist of Kosmos.

She can be found at the Shrine of Fates in Skandeia Bay. Kassandra needs to continue her quest line, flirt at every given opportunity and a romance scene would trigger. She has better chemistry with Kassandra than Alexios and her romance feels more natural with her.

Unfortunately, the romance is short-lived as Diona is a cultist of Kosmos which players have to dispatch.

3 Alexios - Alkibaiades

Players first find Alkibaiades during the main quest Perikles’ Symposium. He’s inside a room on the far side of the house along with a few other people. By flirting with him, Alexios can become a part of the “fun” and enjoy a romantic scene. There are two more opportunities for romance during side quests “Handle with Care” and “Rock Hard.”

He can also be a romance option for Kassandra as well, but considering his preference for other partners throughout the game, Alkibaiades makes much more sense as a romance option for Alexios and his responses fit him better as well.

All in all, he’s a fun and casual sort of partner for Alexios to take his mind off the seriousness of the game’s story.

2 Kassandra - Natakas

Natakas is the romance option added to the game in the Legacy of the First Blade DLC for Kassandra during which she settles down and eventually has a child. Nakatas, being trained by the proto-Assassin Darius, is equal parts a formidable fighter as he is a sweetheart to Kassandra.

The romance feels natural despite being controversial for disregarding players’ preferences for partners’ genders. Kassandra settles down with him, has a child and all is well within their lives for a brief time before Nakatas is killed by the Order of the Ancients.

However, their child survives and goes off with Darius who raises him.

1 Alexios - Neema

Neema was added to the game as part of the Legacy of the First Blade DLC. She was a controversial romance option as the game disregards players’ gender preferences in their romantic partners in-game. However, Neema’s romance is by far the most fleshed-out one where Alexios settles down and eventually has a son with her. The chemistry between her and Alexios is wholesome and plays out naturally during the events of the game.

Despite Kassandra being declared as the canon character, later on, the whole romance between Neema and Alexios makes more sense and was intended as the official choice during this time.
