To pick team members, contestants would get blind auditions where coaches would have to choose based only on how well the person could sing. Each season was chocked full of amazingly talented singers who laid it all on the line in hopes of reaching super-stardom. While most seasons gave great performances and ushered in new generations of stars, some seasons blew away the others. Here are some of the best seasons of The Voice.

7 Season 1 Is Legendary

Season one of The Voice is the premiere that started it all; original coaches Adam Levine, CeeLo Green, Blake Shelton, and Christina Aguilera occupy the red chairs and battle it out to find the best of the best.

As the competitors made their way to the stage, it was clear from the start that viewers were in for a treat; the chemistry of the coaches and the fantastic voices that performed left fans awe-struck. Terrific singers such as Beverly McClellan rocked the audience with her power; Javier Colon enthralled listeners with his smooth and sensational tones, took first place in the competition, and became the very first winner of The Voice.

6 Pharrel Makes A Splash In Season 8

In the show’s eighth season, the stars seem to align as a plethora of talent joined the show in one of its closest competitions ever. While the majority of Judges remained as regulars, this season brought a new pair of eyes, with Pharrel now getting a red chair of his own for the second season in a row.

The teams were jam-packed with powerful voices that wowed the crowds from start to finish; the Judges would have their work cut out for them when it was time to say goodbye to contestants who not only deserved to be on the show but deserved victory. However, the strong prevail, and it was the soulful voice of Meghan Lindsey, coached by Blake Shelton, and the painful depth of Sawyer Fredricks, coached by Pharell, who took first and second place.

5 Season 11 Was Chock-Full Of Talent

Season eleven of The Voice saw two new coaches make their first appearances on the show, with Alicia Keys and Miley Cirus getting to dawn the red chairs. Without hesitation, both powerhouse women came to play and assembled mind-blowingly talented teams.

Extraordinary talents such as Wei Mcdonald, who blew the house down with her performance of “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone, and the duet of Christian Cuevas and Jason Warrior singing Adele’s “Hello”. However, ultimately it was Sundance Head who took first place with his country soul, and Billy Gilman took second for his powerful ballads.

4 The Coaches Defined Season 7

Season seven’s lineup of judges would be Adam and Blake returning and being joined by Pharrel and Gwen Stefani; both Gwen and Pharrel would bring something very special to the show and assemble teams that made more than memorable performances.

The big voice of Clara Hong and the clean tones of Maiya Sykes echoed over the stage and made a big impact. The competition was fierce, and it came down to team Adam and Team Blake once again in the finals with two promising young stars; Craig Wayne Boyd would take first place, coached by Blake Shelton, while Matt McAndrew took second on Team Adam.

3 Some Of The Best Performances Were In Season 5

Season five of The Voice would be a glimpse of things to come; the original judges, Adam, Blake, CeeLo, and Christina Aguilera, would all return and keep their ears attuned to find something truly special. Filled with tremendous performances, season five came strong with talents like Tessanne Chin, whose dulcet tones filled the venue with soul and rhythm; in addition, the powerhouse Jaquie Lee would not leave anything to chance and put her all into every song.

But even those who did not make it to the finals carried themselves with pride and grace having incredible performances of their own; voices like Will Chaplin, who will forever be remembered for his rendition of “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars.

2 Season 3 Will Never Be Topped

Some of the most fantastic and unique voices appeared in season three of The Voice; spectacular talent filled the teams quickly and made sending contestants home that much harder. However, many stars were produced from this season of The Voice that didn’t quite make it to the final live show.

Melanie Martinez, currently one of the biggest names in music, appeared on this season and unfortunately fell short, being eliminated early on. However, Miss Martinez would not be stopped as she picked herself back up, released her first album soon after, and has been climbing to the top ever since. The season’s winner was Cassadee Pope for her ability to breathe emotion into every song she sang; Terry McDermit would come a close second for his powerful rock ballads.

1 Season 4 Had The Best Of The Best

Season four of The Voice would be the first and only season where Shakira and Usher would take on the veteran coaches Adam and Blake and get their own red chairs. The excitement seemed electric, with each coach creating a spectacular team that seemed unstoppable.

However, there can only be one winner of The Voice, and this season seemed to put the women on top as numerous pristine voices echoed throughout the stage, one after another. Amber Carrigan, Grace Askew, and Sasha Allen all wowed everyone with their singing abilities and showmanship. Finally, Danielle Bradberry would take the number one spot, with Michelle Chamuel taking second.
