Players also need to talk about tactics before jumping in with any type of character, none of them assigned to a task. As of yet, these are the best compositions, some used often in gameplay. Of course, the constant add-ons will quickly introduce new obstacles and will urge players to switch up the team setups.

Updated December 11, 2021 by Emma Majoros: As the family of Valorant grows, so does the potential for more complex strategies. Now that fans are used to the style and purpose of the 2020 FPS game, team compositions are becoming more conscious and well-thought-out. Today there are 17 agents in the arsenal of Valorant, all of whom possess a certain list of special skills. Team compositions should be planned according to each player’s strength, the map on which the match will be played, and the agents the enemy team brings. Here are the best Valorant team compositions for the most often occurring situations.

10 Sova, Cypher, Brimstone, Viper, And Omen As The Slow And Steady

For teams who like to play slow and steady, this is the best composition. This is the best team for exploration and information gathering. With this composition, teams can go through the map bit by bit, and use every information they gather against the enemy.

Viper, Omen, and Sova are the best agents to go forward and gather information about the map, while Cypher is the one in the back of the line, making sure no opponent comes after the team. Brimstone is the perfect combination of brainpower and brute force, for when close combat occurs.

9 Phoenix, Sage, Jett, Raze, And Breach As The Fast And Furious

For teams who love playing offense rather than slow and steady defense, these are the Power Rangers of Valorant. While the game mostly focuses on slow and smart gameplay, where communication and strategies are key, it can be played just as well by running into open fire hells-blazing.

The best way to win like this is by putting together the strongest offense team: Breach and Raze as the powerhouses of close combat, Jett and Sage as Jacks of all, and Phoenix as one of the more brutal information gatherers in the game. This team will get across anything before them, and when health gets low, Sage can help with that. The power couples of the team are Raze and Breach, Jett and Phoenix, and Sage as the glue that holds it together. The balance is great, and the gameplay will be epic with this bunch.

8 Sage, Sova, Breach, Phoenix, And Cypher For Smart Gameplays

For players who appreciate the intelligence behind agents and the game itself, this is the perfect setup. Cypher and Phoenix are the best when it comes to information gathering, while Sova is the best intuitive fighter. Teams need to pay attention to the importance of gathering information and moving slowly through the map with smart, thought-out moves along the way.

With that said, this team is useless if players don’t have amazing communication, as all agents will be doing different things, but for the sake of the same goal. With this team, strategizing will be spontaneous, as players need to react to new information fast, using the assets of each agent. Sova and Cypher are the key agents in this composition. With their skills, the team can gain control over the entire map. Using the information these two gather, the team needs to create a strategy, and bingo bango, victory is inevitable.

7 Cypher, Sage, Viper, Raze, And Jett As Jack Of All

People who know the agents pretty well will see that this is quite a colorful composition. Players can switch things up by using Sova instead of Cypher, or Phoenix instead of Jett, and still get the same results. Every type of player can get a piece of the action in this team, and fresh teams can experiment with different positions and strategies as they play.

This is a group that requires spotless communication, as, without it, the game can get real messy real fast. This is the perfect composition for newcomers because each agent has different strengths and weaknesses. Some players will focus on gathering information, others will be wreaking havoc on the battlefield, or moving along strategically on the map. They will need the team’s support, while moving forward intentionally, with the same goal in mind.

6 Brimstone, Breach, Sage, Cypher, And Raze For The Most Balance

Experienced players will look for a team that can do it all. A strong team will be acting upon information gathered on the map, and they need to be flexible enough to switch from offense to defense in the drop of a hat. And some too-varied teams can become messy when communication lacks. Therefore, this is the best-balanced team composition in Valorant.

A lot of teams use this exact setup. Each agent can cause a lot of damage in their specific skill, making all of the amazing assets in the team. Sage is the glue that holds most compositions together, because of her healing skills. Breach, Brimstone, and Raze are the force, knocking over any obstacle. Cypher will protect the team from opponents. This is more of an offense team, but after getting to know the setup, players can switch up roles pretty easily, making it a great defense as well, with at least one or two agents working on that victory constantly.

5 Sage, Breach, Reyna, Killjoy, And Skye, The Ultimate Heals

It might be overkill to put two “healers” on the same team, but when balanced out with characters who need the support, and also complement the healers’ abilities, this can be a great team. Killjoy’s ability to hold down a territory provides the perfect setup for the team. Skye can focus on flushing out the enemy team, therefore helping Reyna achieve the high kill threshold she needs to go fully aggressive and pop off.

Skye also has the ability to track down the enemy team using her ultimate, and this information comes in really handy for agents like Breach, who can take advantage of these situations to take control of the map. Much like Breach, Raze too can benefit from this information to eliminate enemies with extreme efficiency. This team doesn’t only provide the most heals in the game, but with this composition, players can see the full potential of Skye’s ultimate ability.

4 Yoru, Omen, Jett, Phoenix, And Viper For Sneaky Angles

To take over a map, people must be very strategic. Everyone goes at it differently, but the absolute best weapon to use is the element of surprise. To use this effectively, players should learn to take various unusual angles to surprise the enemy team and apply pressure, ultimately luring them into a situation they can’t get out of. What’s a better combo for this than two teleporting agents? Omen is not only a great fit for Yoru because of his ability to teleport, but also because he provides something that is incredibly useful for Yoru: smoke. This way the sneak attacks can be even sneakier.

Jett is amazing with this composition, as she can apply pressure and rush in with an aggressive attack once the enemy team has been cornered. The same goes for the ultimate aggressive character, Viper, who can obliterate the enemy team when she’s given the green light. On the other hand, when the team wants to go a little slower, or take on a defensive strategy, Phoenix’s abilities are there to help and take the lead.

3 Killjoy, Astra, Raze, Brimstone, And Kay/O As The Ultimate Counter

Astra pairs well with almost any agent but needs a good team composition to be able to counter the enemy team effectively. For this team composition, Astra needs to be the dominating force and the mastermind. Most of these agents’ abilities go very well with Astra’s skills, creating an even more massive effect.

For example, pairing Nova Pulse with any of these agents’ abilities (like Raze’s nade) will result in almost twice the damage. Adding Kay/O to the mix makes this composition incredible for countering any other agent. Kay/O – as the ultimate counter in the game currently – can make room, and dissolve some pressure from the enemy team. And Astra, as someone who makes almost any other agent better and more efficient, can help pull the team out of a tough situation by supporting the aggressive attacks and creating opportunities for smart defenses.

2 Kay/O, Reyna, Sage, Cypher, And Astra For The Pros

As one of the newest members of the agents in Valorant, Kay/O has brought forth mixed feelings from players. Some call him a broken character, while others learn to appreciate his strengths and skills. One thing’s for certain, he is one of the hardest characters to master in Valorant. It goes without saying, that because of this, it’s hard to find a player who plays Kay/O perfectly, consequently, building a team around him can be tricky and relies on massive communication.

But, when the right composition does come along, with players who are willing to join VC, this team is almost unbeatable. Kay/O is the ultimate counter against nearly any other character. To support him, Reyna provides massive amounts of aggression, pushing the team forward, Sage provides the heals, Cypher builds defenses and strategies, and Astra joins Kay/O in obliterating the enemy team.

1 Astra, Chamber, Viper, Sova, And Jett, A.K.A. The “Double Trouble”

What’s better than one sniper? Two of them, of course! But creating a good and productive team composition with two snipers can be tricky, and must be perfectly balanced out for the best results. Astra’s gravity well goes perfect with a good sniper like Chamber, and she can also put pressure on the enemy team while the snipers do their thing.

Viper is amazing at completely cutting off choke points and pressuring the enemy team out of (or into) certain situations. Again, this combined with a sniper nearby can be the death of any team. Jett is the perfect match for Chamber, as together they can dominate the entire map and using other agents’ abilities, wipe out the entire enemy team. Lastly, Sova’s abilities pair well with most of these characters, as they can utilize these situations to go a bit more aggressive.
