While there’s plenty to keep players busy in Two Point Campus (managing student happiness, planning courses, building rooms, hiring and training staff, keeping on top of the litter situation), there are many fun moments to be had along the way. It blends the strategic with the silly, with some excellent (and sometimes adorable) moments to uncover as players progress through the game.
8 Throw Parties
One of the more fun things players can do to keep their students happy is to throw a big party. Events increase students’ happiness and can progress players’ journey to the next star ranking.
Events range from fun (DJ sets, Student Union parties, movie nights) to educational (like the important Campus Cookoff). Players can schedule events in advance, and even set up repeat events that will run each year. Throwing a ‘Welcome Back!’ party for students is super easy to do and will set students up for a fun (and maybe chaotic) year ahead.
7 Nurture Beautiful Friendships
Players can get involved in their students’ lives in a personal, direct sort of way (especially compared to player-patient interactions in Two Point Hospital). Helping students find friends can help increase their well-being and therefore their academic performance.
It’s pretty easy to encourage friendships at Two Point Campus. Players can create common areas with items they can interact with together. Two-player arcade machines, the Car Booth, and gym equipment can help with this. Players can check out item descriptions to see the available Gameplay Effects. Anything with a friendship buff will help students reach the lofty friendship height of ‘Giga Chums’.
6 Create Student Clubs
Campus Clubs are a great way to encourage students to interact with each other. It will also unlock items that have decent benefits for club members. For example, Speed Walking Club members will have access to the Speed Walking Track, giving them a decent speed boost. The Power Nap Club unlocks napping anywhere on campus. This means students will recover energy quickly.
Students can only belong to one club at a time, but players can offer several options for them to choose from, including Nature Club and Book Club.
5 Learn New Things From A Giant Brain
Just as players can train doctors and nurses in Two Point Hospital, they can send teachers, assistants, and janitors for training in Two Point Campus. Players will unlock the Training Room at Mitton University, and this will enable them to level up their staff. New skills include Happy Thoughts (to increase staff happiness), Aerodynamics (to move faster), and Inspirational Speaking (to inspire students).
To learn new skills, staff members must visit the Research Room and essentially plug themselves into a giant brain. It’s fun to watch (or at least, it beats watching them dozing off in a lecture room, anyway).
4 Make A Giant Robot
Players are tasked with modernizing the old-school building of Mitton University. They can do this by creating a Robotics Course. Build a Robo Construction room packed with workbenches, 3D printers, and robot parts, and a giant robot will slowly begin to form over the course of the academic year.
The Robotics Course takes three years to complete, with students completing modules such as ‘So You Want to Build a Robot?’ and ‘Avoid Robot Supremacy: Don’t Be a Wally’. Different robots will be built over this three-year period, and it’s fun to check in on their progress from time to time.
3 Train An Army of Knights
The fourth campus, Noblestead, is a school for budding knights. Players must build Battle Grounds and Jousting Fields, tutoring students in the art of knighthood while trying to hold off waves of invaders from time to time.
Noblestead is a fun university to spend time in, with the course culminating in The Grand Joust. Only the happiest, healthiest, and highest-trained students will win, so it takes a bit of effort to complete this course.
2 Take Some Downtime
At the end of the academic year, students will head home for the summer. This is an invaluable period of time in which to prepare for the next year. Players can use this time to pick the courses they would like to run, hire staff, construct new buildings, and design new rooms.
It’s a really useful moment for players to plan ahead, without having to balance requests from students, inspections, and other events. When they’re ready, they can click ‘Start Next Year’ to get the ball rolling.
1 Create Customized Buildings
One brilliant new feature of Two Point Campus is the ability to create customized buildings. Players can construct their own campus buildings from scratch by buying an empty plot of land. This is pretty straightforward and allows players to create the university of their dreams.
Players can lay down paths and place outdoor items, including fences, plants, water features, and benches. They can also place down certain club items, like the Speed Walking Track. This means players can create some fun outdoor areas for students to socialize.
Two Point Campus is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
