RELATED: Genshin Impact: Best Builds For Kuki Shinobu
Due to her support role, Yaoyao is relatively easy to build, similar to many other Genshin Impact healer and support characters such as Bennett or Kuki Shinobu. However, as she primarily scales with HP, it can be difficult to decide which polearm to use, as there aren’t many options for HP secondary stat. To maximize Yaoyao’s potential, players can go for a variety of 4-star weapons that utilize Elemental Mastery or Energy Recharge, with passive effects that can provide self or team buffs such as the Favonius Lance, Kitain Cross Spear, and Moonpiercer.
7 Staff of Homa
Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 66. 2% CRIT DMG R1 Effect: HP increased by 20%. Additionally, provides an ATK Bonus based on 0. 8% of the wielder’s Max HP. When the wielder’s HP is less than 50%, this ATK Bonus is increased by an additional 1% of Max HP.

The Staff of Homa is widely considered to be one of the best polearms for characters that utilize HP scaling in Genshin Impact. While it is primarily a DPS weapon, it can still be a viable option for Yaoyao players who are looking to increase their damage output and have a spare one that cannot be used for other characters like Hu Tao or Zhongli. It may be worth experimenting with if the player is feeling adventurous.
6 Prototype Starglitter
Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 45. 9% Energy Recharge R1 Effect: After using an Elemental Skill, increases Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 8% for 12s. Max 2 stacks.
Prototype Starglitter is an excellent choice for players looking to take advantage of Yaoyao’s extensive healing capabilities. Boasting one of the highest Energy Recharge secondary stats after Engulfing Lightning, this weapon can allow players to use Yaoyao’s burst more often when they are in a pinch. As the passive effect of this weapon is not so significant, players can also opt for the Catch as it provides the same base and secondary stat values.
5 Kitain Cross Spear (R5)
Primary Stat: 542 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 110 Elemental Mastery R5 Effect: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 12%. After Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the character loses 3 Energy but regenerates 5 Energy every 2s for the next 6s. This effect can occur once every 10s. Can be triggered even when the character is not on the field.
Kitain Cross Spear is a considerable free-to-play option when enhanced to level 5 since it is a forgeable weapon. Its Elemental Mastery secondary stat is beneficial and comparable to many other Elemental Mastery weapons in Genshin Impact. Moreover, its passive effect provides an additional advantage by generating additional energy for Yaoyao’s Burst, which can be triggered even when off-field.
4 Dragon’s Bane
Primary Stat: 454 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 221 Elemental Mastery R1 Effect: Increases DMG against opponents affected by Hydro or Pyro by 20%.
Dragon’s Bane is an excellent choice for players who want to utilize Yaoyao as a Dendro reaction-enabling support role alongside her healing abilities. This weapon boasts a significant Elemental Mastery secondary stat value, allowing it to be used effectively in both Bloom and Burgeon teams.
Its passive effect can also be taken advantage of, though it requires some specific party compositions. All in all, Dragon’s Bane is a good weapon for those who wish to use Yaoyao’s support capabilities, even though it is not the most versatile option.
3 Favonius Lance (R5)
Primary Stat: 565 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 30. 6% Energy Recharge R5 Effect: CRIT Hits have a 100% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 6s.

Favonius Lance is an excellent weapon for many support characters, and for players looking to maximize Yaoyao’s Energy Recharge and particle generation. It has a slightly lower Energy Recharge secondary stat than some other polearm options, but its passive effect more than makes up for it. This weapon is ideal for players who use Yaoyao primarily as a healer with a burst priority, as it will help to maximize their Energy regeneration, but otherwise won’t contribute much to party support. Players should remember to focus on some Crit Rate on Yaoyao when using this weapon, as the passive ability requires it for optimal performance.
2 Black Tassel
Primary Stat: 354 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 46. 9% HP R1 Effect: Increases DMG against slimes by 40%.
Black Tassel is an ideal 3-star option for players who want to enable Yaoyao for utmost healing, as it is currently the only polearm that scales with HP% on its secondary stat. Although its passive stat doesn’t contribute any utility to Yaoyao or the rest of the team, it is still a convenient choice for new players who may not have the resources or other options. Despite its limited use, it remains a viable weapon for Yaoyao players who are looking to maximize her HP.
1 Moonpiercer (R5)
Primary Stat: 565 Base ATK Secondary Stat: 110 Elemental Mastery R5 Effect: After triggering Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon, a Leaf of Revival will be created around the character for a maximum of 10s. When picked up, the Leaf will grant the character 32% ATK for 12s. Only 1 Leaf can be generated this way every 20s. This effect can still be triggered if the character is not on the field.
Moonpiercer is an excellent free-to-play weapon choice for Yaoyao, as its Elemental Mastery stat and ATK buff can greatly benefit the damage output of Dendro reaction-focused teams. However, players should keep in mind that the ATK buff provided by Moonpiercer may not be as significant for many characters due to a bigger variety of stats instead of just ATK for skill-scaling in Genshin Impact. Nevertheless, Aggravate teams can still benefit greatly from this weapon, with characters such as Yae Miko or Raiden Shogun being able to make the most of the ATK buff.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
